How It Started

The Frankenmuth Farmers Market was founded in 2005 by a group of community members with a desire to bring fresh local food to the area.

The Frankenmuth Farmers Market holds that food is a conduit through which communities can come together. That philosophy is what bonds our organization and drives our purpose.

Through the execution of farmers markets over the past 15 years, FFM has rooted itself in the traditions of our rural heritage and provided a base from which our farmers, food producers, and neighbors grow and thrive.

Frankenmuth Farmers Market is a non-profit organization.

Executive Director

Christy is a long-time community resident and active volunteer. As a member of multiple civic organizations and event planning committees, Christy has acquired a special set of skills well utilized by the Frankenmuth Farmers Market. Christy has worked on countless projects over her 8-year volunteer history. Most recently working as co-chairman of the Frankenmuth Jaycee Community Splash Pad helping that project raise the high-six figure amount of funding needed to support the development and building of that exciting community amenity. Christy has also worked with numerous organizations or projects in need of recovery assistance. Her unique talents and time are strong factors in the Market’s rooting and continued growth at the north end of town.

Market Manager

Christie oversees the day-to-day operations of the Farmers Market. Christie has a strong retail and customer service background with a working understanding of facility management in current and previous jobs. Christie, currently being responsible for the recruitment and management of the Farm Market vendors is excited to see the continued growth of the FFM vendor count and will lead the charge in organizing the 2021 outdoor farm markets.

Product Development Manager

Carol is a new Frankenmuth resident, recently relocating to the Frankenmuth area and taking on product, service, and recipe development from the FFM artisan kitchen. Growing up and living in Kalamazoo until recently, Carol served as the Executive Director of "Fancy Pants Theater" a small, grass-roots theater company in Kalamazoo. Carol also currently serves as Chief Operations Officer for JCI Michigan and is a dual member of the Frankenmuth and Kalamazoo Jaycee chapters. With great creativity and a love of good foods, you will see some fun, fresh, and local flavors cranking out of the FFM kitchen in the days ahead.
