10th Annual Christkindlmarkt: 2 Weekends, +2 Dozen Vendors, ALL LOCAL!
FRANKENMUTH, MI – Nearly 3 dozen different vendors of all sorts will offer their locally produced gifts and goods at the Frankenmuth Farmers Market’s tenth annual Christkindlmarkt, providing food, fun, festivity, and shopping over two weekends, November 29-30 and December 5-7. The traditional European-style Christmas Market will operate in a heated tent in the Market’s regular location next to Harvest Coffeehouse in Downtown Frankenmuth, with free admission, as follows:
10am-8pm Friday, November 28 10am-6pm Friday, December 5
10am-6pm Saturday, November 29 10am-6pm Saturday, December 6
11am-5pm Sunday, November 30 11am-3pm Sunday, December 7
The assortment of vendors and product variety varies each day, encouraging frequent return visits while shopping the rest of the stores in the heart of Frankenmuth. Fresh-cut evergreens from Hoffman Farms are magically woven on-site into custom or pre-made wreaths, swags, garlands, grave blankets and more, along with German cookies, maple syrup, hickory nuts, and other gifts. Chestnuts roasted on site also offer a classic Christmas fragrance and flavor, along with more chestnut products from Saginaw’s Hill Chestnut Farm. The sweet scents of fresh roasted and glazed nuts from Frankenmuth Fudge Kitchen fill the air along with other a huge array of other tempting treats from three-generation Butter Crust Bakery, creative cashew candies from Cashew Crunch, and apples, cider, fresh homemade pies and other pastries and gifts from Miller’s Family Orchard. Savory selections include Margo’s Nutz seasoned almond, Six Lugs Michigan Cherry sauces from BBQ to chocolate to vinaigrette, Uncle Bob’s Smoky Mountain Premium Sauce for grilling and cooking, Jar Head Salsa, tortilla chips, cheese dip and Bloody Mary mix benefiting the Flint VFW, Sansonetti’s full line-up of sauces and condiments, U.P Pasties in full and snack sizes, and Frankenmuth-based Tozy Tea’s carefully blended gourmet teas. Friends of the furry or feathered kind are not forgotten, with dog treats from KaChomp and bird-watching and feeding finds from Wild Birds Unlimited. The stirring scents of Kapow Soap and Cabana Soap captivate many shoppers as perfect stocking stuffers. Other great gifts include Farm Brook Designs hypertufa home and garden art, Sterling Metal decorative designs, Fariering Glass and Metal jewelry, scarves handmade by Laura Ashley, Goldy Holdwick wooden creations, Pike Family Crafts, Upcycled Mittens, and more. Local authors will also sign and sell their penned publications. Enlivening the atmosphere is such on-site entertainment as guitarist Riley McLincha portraying Charles Dickens, face painting, and more.
